Matt Unger was born and raised on a farm in Cornelius, Oregon. Matt is a third generation farmer, He graduated with a BS in Agriculture from Oregon State University and began farming on his own in 1984 along with his wife Kathy. We raised four children who are now grown and starting families of their own.

Having grown up on a strawberry farm made growing our own strawberries seem a natural way to go. In the early years we grew strawberries and cucumbers with everything being sold to processors, over the years we have moved towards selling our produce in the local market through the farmers markets. We now send over 80% of what we grow going to farmers markets, local stores, numerous roadside stands and school lunch programs. Our list of crops now includes blueberries, raspberries, blackberries, table grapes and what we're known best for STRAWBERRIES.

Selling our produce to local markets is a great way to share with our community what we do. The varieties we grow are chosen based on flavor, size, and hardiness. We are proud to be a sustainable farm which means to us that our land will be healthy and well taken care of for future generations, included in many of our sustainable practices are cover crops to keep soil in its place, mulches for weed control , integrated pest management for pest and disease control, drip irrigation for water conservation as well as soil erosion. How our produce is picked, packed and cooled are just as important to us as how they are grown. Our goal is to ensure our customers a perfectly picked berry to take home to their families.

They say farming is a way of life. To choose farming as a profession is to choose a way of life. We love what we do and we love sharing what we do.
