HISTORY

Unger Farms was established in 1984 by Mathew and Kathy Unger. Matt is a 3rd generation farmer, raised on Unger Road in Cornelius, OR. Unger Farms, Inc. started its legacy by selling strawberries at local farmer’s markets and local processing facilities. Over the 36 years, Matt and Kathy have worked with Oregon State University and other industry experts to hand-select the varieties of the strawberry, blueberry, blackberry, and raspberry plants grown on the farm. In 2010, the original 79-acre farm grew to 143 acres via the purchase of the neighboring property. This 63-acre parcel has production land, a large irrigation pond, and is home to Unger’s Farm Store. Today, the farm attends 9 Portland Metro farmer’s markets each week, delivers to all New Seasons Market stores in Oregon, and hosts hundreds of customers each year at the Farm Store.
